Faunia, Madrid
(3.2/5 based on 700+ reviews on the web)
Faunia, a botanical garden and zoo covering 14 hectares (35 acres), actually feels smaller and more interactive than a typical zoo. You’ll find all types of animals here, but highlights include an black agouti, several varieties of penguins, and a bat enclosure. Zookeepers give informative talks about manatees, Komodo dragons, and wallabies. Check the official website to see if an event coincides with your visit. The majority of installations are covered, so it’s a comfortable stop on both sunny and rainy days. • We went by taxi from Gran Via and it cost us around 15€, not a bad price. The price for two adults was about 50€, a little on the expensive side, but if you book online its cheaper. There are loads of...  more »
  • Difficult to reach via metro, but access via bus is an option. Well laid out, with a recommended route to help out. Book online for the best prices and be aware that not all food venues will be open. ...  more »
  • It is the third time that let's faunia and the truth that we like enough, is a way different and closer to see the animals, but it is true that maybe been a little stagnant and there are things that need a bit more than attention: dinosaurs ride needs an urgent review the sensors do not work and the sounds leave much wanting, and the truth, which could be very fun. The food at value for money is expensive (more expensive, even, than those offered in other parks), what does good, is that you can take the food out, but lack of sources in the Park. The jungle, the poles and the mangroves of the crocodiles of the best thing to see along with the area of lemurs and the Aquarium. If you go with children you will love it, worth a go, but it should be something more economical.

  • The animals are happy, not the same in the zoo
  • The park is "ok". Very dirty and no exit signs. Got lost and couldn't get out.
  • Very nice! There are no big animals that usually at zoos have very little space. The animals at Faunia seemed to have enough space. It is also a different kind of zoo as there ar areas where you can walk among the animals, such as the monkeys (curious little things!). The zoo was also surprisingly large. Most of the restaurants were closed, though and we got lost because there weren't enough maps around the zoo. Otherwise, a great place to visit. I liked it more than "The Zoo".
  • Great to visit, but too expensive for the services
  • good place
