Faunia, Madrid
(3.3/5 based on 700+ reviews on the web)
Faunia, a botanical garden and zoo covering 14 hectares (35 acres), actually feels smaller and more interactive than a typical zoo. You’ll find all types of animals here, but highlights include an black agouti, several varieties of penguins, and a bat enclosure. Zookeepers give informative talks about manatees, Komodo dragons, and wallabies. Check the official website to see if an event coincides with your visit. The majority of installations are covered, so it’s a comfortable stop on both sunny and rainy days. • It is a good experience for kids. However, do not expect to see large animals; elephants, giraffes, etc. You can bring your own food. It has a small playground with picnic area. A good idea to eat a quiet while the children play. The poison is very well explained. Other areas such as the butterflies, are a bit scarce animal.

  • Compulsory visit with children mainly by direct interaction of them with animals. This is what differentiates a normal Zoo FAUNIA. Here it is possible to feed them even caress them. The site is not to go many days for the cost but well worth. Children minors of 3 years free. We ate at the Burger of the Park, quality / price normal (10€ menu very full).

  • The animals are happy, not the same in the zoo
  • The park is "ok". Very dirty and no exit signs. Got lost and couldn't get out.
  • Very nice! There are no big animals that usually at zoos have very little space. The animals at Faunia seemed to have enough space. It is also a different kind of zoo as there ar areas where you can walk among the animals, such as the monkeys (curious little things!). The zoo was also surprisingly large. Most of the restaurants were closed, though and we got lost because there weren't enough maps around the zoo. Otherwise, a great place to visit. I liked it more than "The Zoo".
  • Great to visit, but too expensive for the services
  • good place
