  • Segovia Viaduct is known also as the viaduct of the Bailén Street, is in the Centre of Madrid and very close to some of the most important points of tourist interest in the city, as the remains of the wall of the city, the Almudena Cathedral, Royal Palace, etc... You could say that it is a viaduct known by locals, but of little interest to tourists. And I say very known by the inhabitants of Madrid, by the suicides that here have been going on, since the 19th century. We have been a few days, for Madrid, and we've been through this viaduct, as so many other times we have passed, and I from tiny, when my parents and my grandparents took me to the Park of Vistillas, which is next to it. This viaduct was built in order to prolong the Bailén Street, which is located in its upper part and save at the same time the unevenness of the Calle Segovia. It has suffered throughout the years different remodeling, to its current appearance, a few years ago a transparent safety screens, were installed to prevent suicides occurring there. !! What Madrid do not know of any case of these! It is a viaduct with road traffic and sidewalk for passers-by. As I said at the beginning, this viaduct has not just tourist attractions.

  • The views are great, you can see how big is the city and the sun setting down, the cathedral on the back, its very nice, there are glasses on each side but its still possible to take good pictures.  more »
  • The El Viaducto or is in the western part of the Centre of Madrid close to the Catedral de Santa María. The modern building spans a Valley cut. We had not suspected such a building in a large city. It is certainly no sensation, but it is already interesting. If eh is the Cathedral, you can see over here briefly.

  • You can see some parts of the city while walking on to bridge. Before the bridge starts, there is Calle de Bailen where you can walk by and see a nice view of the city. It is not crowded and is a nice quiet place.
  • The famous viaduct in Segovia, with its spectacular views... the bad thing q is covered by the glass partitions that put City Hall to avoid the issue of suicides a taboo subject of Madrid which is not spoken in the media.

  • The aqueduct of Segovia is a Roman aqueduct located in the Spanish city of Segovia. Its construction dates from the beginning of the 2nd century d. C., at the end of the reign of the Emperor Trajan or principles of the Adriano.

  • Famous for suicides. This is, perhaps, that most characterizes this impressive feat of engineering, which, due to its altitude (23 meters), is ideal for this purpose. Anecdotes aside, built in 1875, although the original had to be demolished due to structural problems, building a new one which was completed in the forties of the last century, and which had to be restored in the 70's. Its purpose was to join the Royal Palace with San Francisco el Grande, saving the ravine formed by the Brook Matrice. It is not an objective of great interest, but if we approach by Almudena or the Islamic wall we can devote a few minutes.

  • Spectacular and iconic. But it is loaded with glass panels.
