  • I was visiting the Conde Duque because he had been in an event once, but had not given me time to see nothing more than the room where we were. The truth is that it is huge and seems to be empty because there are many doors that only lead to offices or large rooms and almost nothing, but has several exhibitions, different rehearsal rooms and others, a large library, an auditorium... I was gossiping all what I could and in the library sat a while to read in one of the chairs that they have against the windows and it is great, there is a noise and really have much material that can be consulted.

  • I've been many times and had never written a comment about the Center Conde Duque. The truth is that the exhibitions tend to have high level, are very interesting and free. Highly recommended place to spend a Sunday morning, for example ;-) In addition there are usually other kinds of activities and in summer there are some terraces that are fine to drink. Very highly recommended!

  • Whenever we are going to Madrid, we try to go to this cultural center where you can also see exhibitions for free. On this occasion we saw one photographer Chema Madoz on Asturias and also one of a medical Canadian that he was in Spain helping Republicans during the uprising of the dictator Franco.

Where to stay in Madrid

The Spanish capital is known for its array of distinct neighborhoods each with its own appeal. An affordable and easy-to-navigate metro system, which makes it is easy to get around Madrid gives you more flexibility in choosing where to stay. Perhaps the most popular choice is Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city center and one of the main tourist attractions with its numerous shops, affordable hotels, and restaurants. Close by is Gran Via street, one of the city's main arteries, which is also home to a number of hotels. A short walk from here is Plaza España where the city's most iconic landmarks lie, including the Royal Palace and the Teatro Royal. For somthing outside the traditional tourist areas, consider staying in La Latina or Malasaña, two bohemian neighborhoods that offer a wide range of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and lively bars.
