Casa Museo Lope de Vega, Madrid

(4.4/5 based on 320+ reviews on the web)
Take a walk in Lope de Vega's footsteps to see what influenced and inspired his work at Casa Museo Lope de Vega, the author's former home and now a museum dedicated to the "golden age" writer. Opened as a museum in 1935, it was declared a national monument that same year. Run by the Real Academia Espanola, the house features a number of rooms, including a dining room, chapel, kitchen, the writer's bedroom, and his study, among others. Visit the museum to see where Lope de Vega spent 25 years of his life and wrote some of his most well-known works. To access the museum, you must book a guided tour, which is conducted in English, French, or Spanish. • This museum amazed me completely, is beautiful not only in its travel and paintings, but also in the energy transmitted, in Madrid.

  • The famous writer lived in this House in the neighborhood of the letters a period of his life. It has a small patio with garden and it's a guided tour. On the top floor was a work to make it seem that there were no rooms (houses to malice) and to avoid the King's soldiers will be housed.

  • Very nice. The visit is very enjoyable and with much information interesting, not only from the life of the writer. Is as do a visit at the time to her life everyday in the century of gold. The guide who accompanied us knew very well the issue, responded to all the questions that emerged providing additional data on issues and references related to the writer or the time.

  • Even if unkown for many people, Félix Lope the Vega was one of the greatest geniouses of the Spanish Literature, together with Cervantes. This house was his last home and is one of Madrid's treasures, since is one of the few places from the XVIth still preserved in the city. Ever after going under a deep restoration, you can still see how a "good house" was in the Madrid of the Hapsburgs. And it's free! The only "but" it can only be seen with a guided tour that you must book in advance, since only 12 people are allowed to visit it at a time and the groups fill up quickly. If not, you can always see the nice and romantic orchard, recreated exactly as it was at the times of Lope.
  • Please must to visit
  • For all writers and poet lovers!
  • Fun way to spend an afternoon if you have a lot of time in Madrid. Not a lot of people, and a very personalized tour.
  • The guided tour is very good. A cozy place and very nice employees, since the guide until the security Lady. It is a very interesting visit and is full of curiosities.
