Take a walk in Lope de Vega's footsteps to see what influenced and inspired his work at Casa Museo Lope de Vega, the author's former home and now a museum dedicated to the "golden age" writer. Opened as a museum in 1935, it was declared a national monument that same year. Run by the Real Academia Espanola, the house features a number of rooms, including a dining room, chapel, kitchen, the writer's bedroom, and his study, among others. Visit the museum to see where Lope de Vega spent 25 years of his life and wrote some of his most well-known works. To access the museum, you must book a guided tour, which is conducted in English, French, or Spanish. • Even if unkown for many people, Félix Lope the Vega was one of the greatest geniouses of the Spanish Literature, together with Cervantes. This house was his last home and is one of Madrid's treasures, since is one of the few places from the XVIth still preserved in the city. Ever after going under a deep restoration, you can still see how a "good house" was in the Madrid of the Hapsburgs. And it's free! The only "but" it can only be seen with a guided tour that you must book in advance, since only 12 people are allowed to visit it at a time and the groups fill up quickly. If not, you can always see the nice and romantic orchard, recreated exactly as it was at the times of Lope.
  • For all writers and poet lovers!
  • Fun way to spend an afternoon if you have a lot of time in Madrid. Not a lot of people, and a very personalized tour.
  • It is a free admission Museum but it is essential to request previous visit, if you arrive without it you can not enter. It is a restored house in the 1930s and later in the 70's and do 90? (don't remember it well) that recreates the atmosphere of the time through furniture and furnishings donated by various entities, also there are tapestries, oil paintings and books donated by El Prado, national library... is very interesting. Depending on the person who exercises guide your visit will be more or less interesting since they do not always offer the same amount of information. It is easy to feel in the time of Lope de Vega since the environment is very got doors panels, floors of terracotta and other objects of the period (not replicas) will make your visit a great experience. He is allowed to take pictures without flash even if you leave the backpack in the slogan of the entry is not allowed to access the Museum with her.

  • Mansion that was owned by the famous writer Félix Lope de Vega during his last period, now owned by the SAR although managed by the community of Madrid. It offers free guided tours for which should be book, since they are very small groups. The visit is very enjoyable thanks to the explanations of the guides and the amount of time so varied and well-preserved objects. It has a garden where there are lyrical performances and other cultural activities.
