Categories: Gardens, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.6/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web
Nestled in a green area in a quiet district of northeast Madrid, Capricho Park provides an interesting and relaxing escape from the bustle of the big city. Construction originally began in 1787, the age of Romanticism, and the park’s features reflect that style. Wander along the shaded pathways and discover the many statues, sculptures, and monuments scattered across the park's 14 hectares (34.6 acres). Seek out the intricate designs of the Palace of the Dukes of Osuna, as well as the small chapel located in a wood. Public transportation is available from central Madrid on both buses and the Madrid Metro system. • Very nice Park, perfect to go walking in couple or family. Choose day of Sun but in autumn is beautiful also.

  • Lovely garden with Mansion House farm and even the civil war bunker Spanish. If you are going to visit him and want to access the bunker, there is a very long waiting list. The garden you can visit at all times of the year, now in autumn, with its changes of tones, in spring with the explosion of nature, are the two best to visit it, is my opinion obviously my taste.

  • A must for lovers of large gardens. Very important place because in the lived the Dukes of Osuna, close friends of francisco de Goya who walked these same grounds. Very nice.

  • Great place for walking or taking wedding photos. It includes a Civil War bunker, need reservation in advance, palace and ponds.
  • A beautiful park with lovely sculptures, Greco-Roman style buildings, and many walking paths. There may be a line to enter, but the park is free. Great place to wander, sit and people watch, or stage a photoshoot. Highly recommend when looking for a day to just wander.
  • Magnífico parque
  • A gorgeous park away from the tourist routes, build by the Duchess of Osuna this incredible park has british, italian and french gardens, place where Goya used to spent sometime with the Osuna family painting for them, it has a Palace, a bridge from the Eiffel workshop, the bee house or a great sculpture of Saturn eating his children. Only open on the weekends, if you are into gardens, dont miss out, some more surprises await you there....
  • Great park in Madrid. Opens only during weekends and is normally crowded. Parking can be difficult in the area. Access is free but under control...if it is busy they close the entrance.
