  • Small Museum near atocha station, where you can see objects of different human cultures in the world. For my taste a little scarce, since in less than 2 hours touring you perfectly calmly Museum. It has free admission Saturday from 14:00 and on Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 to 15:00 is very easy to reach by public transport on the list is one of the outputs of atoch renfe station

  • The Museum is quite small but the exhibits are varied and well presented. During our visit we also saw several temporary exhibitions, of very good quality and we agree with a concert of classical music. Highly recommended.

  • Museum which has several collections grouped in the following way: 1st floor: collection Filipina, Asian collection, collection of ancient anthropology 2nd floor: collection African (mostly from former Spanish colonies) 3rd floor: American collection in each floor displays objects of each region, such as clothing, toys, tools, religious objects, weapons, jewelry, etc... explaining each with its origin and date. Ancient anthropology room shows the skeleton of the giant of Extremadura and some that another rarity. The building is quite eye-catching on the outside and very good. Advisable to learn a little more of all these cultures.

  • Compact. Didn't really catch my attention but there was an interesting temporary exhibition dealing with the 1887 Philippines Exposition. Good bathrooms and pleasant staff.
  • Small museum with small cultural collections from around the world. There are far better museums in Madrid to visit - and this is coming from an anthropologist. However, they also have a rotating exhibit and recently it was photographs from Asturias during the Spanish Civil War, which were very interesting. Also look up the story of Doctor Velasco (the museum is housed in his former mansion) and his daughter that he mummified and then dug up again. Most interesting part of the building but there is no mention of it in the museum itself!
  • A small museum with small collections of objects from cultures around the world. There are many better museums in Madrid to visit, though this one does offer free admission if you purchase an annual pass (which includes unlimited priority admission to the Prado and Reina Sofia). Plan forty-five minutes to an hour.
  • small but interesting, good exhibitions about foreing or little-known cultures
  • you won't write home about this place. Tourists can ignore it

Where to stay in Madrid

The Spanish capital is known for its array of distinct neighborhoods each with its own appeal. An affordable and easy-to-navigate metro system, which makes it is easy to get around Madrid gives you more flexibility in choosing where to stay. Perhaps the most popular choice is Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city center and one of the main tourist attractions with its numerous shops, affordable hotels, and restaurants. Close by is Gran Via street, one of the city's main arteries, which is also home to a number of hotels. A short walk from here is Plaza España where the city's most iconic landmarks lie, including the Royal Palace and the Teatro Royal. For somthing outside the traditional tourist areas, consider staying in La Latina or Malasaña, two bohemian neighborhoods that offer a wide range of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and lively bars.
