  • Despite the simplicity of this construction, it seemed an imposing church of dimensions more than considerable and that is very well seen from the Park of the Ebro. Inside is almost more impressive that on the outside. The central hall caught my attention by the height of the ceiling and horrible lamps that have been installed.

  • This church is situated in the historic centre of Logroño. It has a sober exterior with a square Tower of 40 metres tall and a curious cover which is home to statues of Santiago Pilgrim and Santiago Matamoros, one with its shell and the other on horseback leading the reconquest. The interior of a nave with side chapels, has an interesting altarpiece from the 17TH century, in which was placed the Gothic image of the Virgen de la Esperanza, patron saint of the city. To the right of the cover, down the street one gets to the Board of the game of the goose painted on the floor, inspired by the Camino de Santiago, in which children can play as if they were the tiles move on the Board. It is funny for anyone and if you go with children is highly recommended to approach any game.

  • I gave the stars for the entire atmosphere. The place is helped by volunteers, by further priests. There are two rooms, one with beds (very old) and one with matressses where you can sleep. The room with matresses is pretty cool. There is also dinner cooked by the volunteers, breakfast, or you can use the kitchen in between to cook for yourself. The moment made before putting the compostela was the nicest moment from my first week of camino. It's a place supported with heart. If people will realy donate, maybe the conditions for accomodations can be improved.
  • Cost: by donation. We were greeted by a really friendly man who explained the rules and services. The room had 18 beds which were decently comfortable. There was a family style supper where everyone sang a hymn together, mass, and an evening prayer and blessing for the peregrinos.
  • A nice cozy place. From 7:30 eat with everyone from 8 a.m. mass, and once again mass. So very nice time!! ︎ just can't go to tapas night, since they close at 10. Contributions

  • On the cover we can see figures of Santiago pilgrims and Santiago Matamoros. The City Council met in it. The present Church is from the 16th century.
