Church Specialty Museum
Experience the most important pilgrimage site on Mallorca, Santuari de Lluc. Founded in the 13th century after a Moorish shepherd found a statue of the Virgin Mary on the site, this monastery offers a place of tranquility, spirituality, artistic heritage, and natural beauty. Wander around the grounds to appreciate the view of the mountains and the medieval monastic architecture. Behind the monastery buildings, there's a botanical garden trail with notes on preserving the environment of the Mallorcan mountain region. Inside the museum you will find works of art, ancient pottery and ceramics, furniture, and other artifacts. Enter the ornately decorated church and you may be able to hear the boys’ choir, Els Blauets, which was founded in 1531 and holds concerts regularly--their album is available in the gift shop. There are several places to eat, as well as guest accommodations and campsites. Our Lluc vacation route planner makes visiting Santuari de Lluc and other Lluc attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • Athough we live on Mallorca for 12 years now, we never actually stopped here. But, it is worth to go and see the place. You feel the history and there is some really amazing stuff to see. Not a religi...  more »

  • We arrived at the end of a long day. As others have said it is quite a winding road from Inca - I (the driver) love this kind of road; my wife does not so it's not for everyone. If we had longer we wo...  more »

  • Stunning views of the mountain range inside of Mallorca. This is a great stopping point if you are hiking or biking up these mountains. It has a weird mixture of ecclesiastical artwork and architecture. If you are so inclined you can also rent rooms in the converted horse stables. If you bring the kids in the summertime there is a huge swimming pool and they have a great offering of local cuisine.
  • A beautiful, simple place to stay. Rooms are spare, the restaurant is full service, and the grounds are stunning. I suggest asking for a corner room if you stay over in summer because it can get quite hot and the two Windows really help.
  • Well, the museum is just amazing, the surroundings are beautiful, the gardens are delightful and the ticket to the monastery was only 5 euros which included the parking ticket. All information is clearly showed in signs before entry and explained by the staff working there in basically every language. So don't be put off by bad comments of retarded people
  • Very cool place to walk around. Bring a bathing suit and enjoy the best pool in Mallorca.
  • A nice area, but I think the highlight was rather the surroundings than the monastery itself.
