Parque de Santa Catalina, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Take a walking tour through the grounds of Parque de Santa Catalina, a landscaped park in the city center. At the statue of Lolita Pluma, pay your respects to a woman who became the park’s mascot. She was often seen feeding stray cats and pigeons that live among the park's plant life. You'll also find a cafe bearing Lolita's name that serves coffee and snacks. The tourist office in the park provides information on all the city’s attractions. Bus tours of the city also begin at the park. • Excellent restaurants in between mediocre ones. Friendly staff. You just keep coming back. Police station in the park.  more »
  • calm and relaxed evenings, ideal place for a drink on the terrace. Use extreme caution in the plaza and streets near the area for pickpockets

  • Very nice place to sit down for coffee or light meal, lot of football's fans come here to have beer and watch game
  • Nice and clean place. You'll find a bus station here, nice little cafes and restaurants, as well as a kids area.
  • Very central with beautiful flower beds and food kiosks and nearby shopping area. Bus services available, including Tourist bus. Tourist office and Police station nearby. A pleasant place just to sit and relax.
  • Beautiful views, easy to find and explore. Close to the beach and the harbour for lovely walks. Lots of cafés and bars to choose from and a great interchange for buses to the rest of the city.
  • This is noisy touristic place. There are more cafes and restaurants. Non stop is full with people. Often there are concerts and others public events. This place is good transport center. There are bus for each point of city and the more places of the island. Santa Catalina is famouse place for all tourists but you will not missed anything if you do not visit it.

Where to stay in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

For a view of the sea, consider lodging along the coast in one of the following neighborhoods: Arenales, Ciudad Jardín, Alcaravaneras, Santa Catalina, Ciudad Jardín, or La Isleta. These districts boast an assortment of hotels, rental apartments, and lodging near the beach that is also within walking distance of the city center. For an urban vibe, with a view over the modern city, consider accommodations in the city's old town or its earliest neighborhoods: Vegueta, San José, and Triana.
