Parque de San Telmo, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Categories: Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
3.6/5 based on 200 reviews on the web
Located at the end of the one of Gran Canaria’s busiest streets, Parque de San Telmo provides a relaxing and shaded refuge from the bustle of the surrounding city. The park itself abuts a section of the old city wall, and contains a baroque chapel from the late sixteenth century. Relax on one of the park’s many benches under the shade of large palm trees, or grab a drink from one of the surrounding cafes and food stands. Be sure to pay a visit to the Modernist-style kiosk located on the edge of the park, which is an example of unusual architecture in addition to serving refreshments. Children can play and exercise on the playground or central green areas. Live music is often played in the evenings at the square’s central gazebo. The area makes a convenient post-arrival rest area as it is located next to the city’s central bus station.
