  • A harbour is usually a good place to get in touch with typical food and local people. That's also the case at Mercado del Puerto. We had some local food mostly based on fresh fish which was excellent....  more »
  • Went here as it was recommend at the hotel, very cool spot, a market during the day then on friday and saturday it becomes a sort of a big bar and small restaurants! lots of choices for eating, expect...  more »
  • This is the best Friday the pleasure of Las Palmas-I promise! It begins to mingle with Swedish companies at stand tables after work and sound level increases as you go, to finally hear what the other says hardly looking forward to midnight. It is crowded with people both inside the market hall and outside in the pedestrian area, young and old, working buddies, couples, dressed up and in jeans. There are full with different kinds of tapas bars BL a Scandinavian but salmon can eat at home no bet rather on the Spanish Piscas & Buches (local 5) where the tall smale waiter flying around like a fool to serve all, put particular attention to how he runs folded under the door into the kitchen each time he should get something. Here are my favorite dish Pulpo de Canarias which is a fresh blend of papas arrugadas, mojo sauce, calamari, onion and bell pepper-it's Heavenly. They also have a ropa vieja on the Octopus is a bit more fun than an ordinary vieja. Very good red wine by the glass. Because my husband's favorite bar, located next door, Italian from Livorno; Cachùk (local 6), we usually choose a table in between. I order from "rubber man" and he from the shortest and nicest Italian girl you've ever seen. Where he chooses aubergine filled with that is scalloped and for Justice sake wine from them (though the rubber man's wine is better) We always start the evening with a couple of oysters from the Italian and finish with a glass of ice-cold Cava for 2 euros on the bar Alboroto opposite the market Hall. Leave through the exit at Piscas & Buches and hold little right across the pedestrian zone to the other side and there you can also drink drinks all night.

  • Great food and cheap beer. Nice place to spend many hours and struggle to spend more than €30.
  • Best market in town to have a beer and pinchos, on fridays is really crowded.
  • Best Canarian tapas at Piscos y Buches.
  • Fresh produce market and top tapas spot, the Mercado del Puerto is a must visit spot in Las Palmas. Busiest on Thursday nighhts and weekends.
  • One of my favourite places to visit when in Las Palma's. It's like a little Borough market with lots of fresh food stalls and lots of little cafes and pinchos.
