Caldera de Bandama, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

4.3
Hidden up in the wine country around Tafira, find Caldera de Bandama, a huge volcanic crater. From the rim, catch views of the surrounding island and into the 1 km (0.6 mi) wide crater. If you're feeling up to it, take the 200 m (700 ft) walk down the volcanic ash into the crater--it takes about half an hour, and you should make sure to wear comfortable shoes. To get here, catch the number 311 bus, leaving from San Telmo bus station every hour. There are also places to grab a snack nearby. • I love the boiler and shortly after bandama is one of the sites that I like more than island also if you upload to the peak will have the opportunity of entering a bunker

  • Trip worth it for the beautiful views. In spring exceptionally green thanks to little rain on the fertile crater soil.

  • One of the largest volcanic craters of Gran Canaria, 200 metres deep with a diameter of 1 km. By car you can get to the top and enjoy the panorama in 360 degrees over the island which, if the day is clear it will appear in all its glory.

  • . If you can survive the drive, you'll love the view . A satnav can be helpful for getting here. It is marked as a place of interest on Garmin satnavs, so that makes it easy to find. Otherwise you follow either the brown tourist signposts to Bandama - and it must be said that Gran-Can is pretty good on signs - or just follow the tourist buses. This at least will ensure that even if your route is round-about, you won't get stuck in a tiny narrow street. On the way there, there were other craters, so we kept thinking that we had arrived. But then when we got to the actual one, we realized just how puny the others were. This is big, very big, very impressive. But once you've looked at it a bit, unless you feel strong enough to walk down (and back up again . . .), there's not a lot to do, so make it a stop en route to somewhere else rather than a whole visit in its own right.. .
  • In and of itself a very nice place. There is however far too few parking, so you basically the circular hiking trail not reasonably assume can go. In the high season, it is quite difficult reasonable to reach the. The infrastructure is very poor! A visit is worth most likely in the early hours of the morning or in the late afternoon.

  • great place, very scenic; It's not often we have the opportunity to visit the old Crater Volcano and if the plan calls for the caldera

  • It is worth seeing this enormous volcano. Especially since the peak Bandama, accessible by car. Beautiful views and nothing more.
