Cueva de los Verdes, Lanzarote

(4.3/5 based on 3,600+ reviews on the web)
Marvel at unusual rock formations in a kaleidoscope of colors on a tour of Cueva de los Verdes, a volcanic cave system. Its formation is a result of the eruptive activity of the La Corona volcano around 3,000 years ago, which created an underground tunnel. Listen to guide explain the unusual geology of the cave, tell how it has served as a hiding place, and reveal its special secret. The 1 km (0.6 m) cave has uneven floors, many steps, and low ceilings. It may not be suitable for those with mobility problems. Sensible shoes are recommended. Make Cueva de los Verdes a part of your Lanzarote vacation plans using our Lanzarote tourist route planner.

  • Interesting visit of this lava cave, and costs € 9 per person and with a length of visit of about 45 minutes you will carry out the visit with a local guide who will explain everything in both English and Spanish, there are narrow passages but nothing insurmountable!!! And then the final secret that nobody reveals ... ....

  • Excellent caves quite a long underground walk sometimes very low walkway but mostly easy going well worth the money. "wait for the surprise" go and find out.
  • Beautiful! Interesting and different than all caves I have ever seen. Entrance was in price of our x3 atractions which we paid 20 euro per person. Time 40minutes.

  • Definitely worth a visit, though avoid peak times. Plenty of people are prepared to try and jump the queues! Guide was excellent. Either keep at the front to avoid people blocking your photos or hang out at the back so you dictate the pace of the tour.
  • Well worth a visit to get a view of the natural beauty of the island, the guide was a great guy speaking spanish and english a happy to answer questions. A word of warning if you are tall, you will need to bend watch you head it hurts. I KNOW 😣
  • Interesting cave created by outflowing lava on Lanzarote. Well worth a visit. Mornings are busy, but quiet in the afternoon (it's cool insite anyhow). Tour takes around 45 minutes.
  • Amazing place to visit! A must see. Be sure to pay attention to the cliff edge! You'll know when you see it!
  • Better to visit Jameos del Agua instead if you have to choose. Your guide not very good. I advise to follow close to her as she speaks first in Spanish where everyone is quiet and then in English - which is the signal for all the Spanish speakers to start talking, loudly because they are rude. The guide should maybe speak English first or politely ask the Spanish to be quiet. The group was too big and considering 30 (at least) x €9 = over €300 then I think they could do better. My wife is Estonian and found it hard to understand.
