Bodega El Fabulista, Laguardia

4.3
#1 of 7 in Wineries in Laguardia
Winery / Vineyard Food & Drink
Delve into a cave-like underground winery at Bodega El Fabulista. Located under the home of Félix María de Samaniego, a famous 19th-century writer of fables, this winery's bottles all have fable-related themes. See where the grapes arrive by tractor, are tipped into a concrete vat, and then are mashed by foot like in ancient times. Descend the steep, narrow stairs to the cellars below the town, and explore the cool tunnels where the wine is fermented and aged. Enter a decorated tunnel where you can enjoy a tasting with your guide, paired with explanations on the proper ways to taste and appreciate wine. Wine is sold in the cellar as well. Guided tours are available in English, but you must book in advance. Work out when and for how long to visit Bodega El Fabulista and other Laguardia attractions using our handy Laguardia itinerary planner.

  • Excellent original winery with so much history. The tour was fantastic and is highly recommended.
  • Fun authentic visit. Wine not very good though
  • Great tour through a relatively small win ery and excellent wines!
  • worth the visit.
  • If you want a unique wine that you can't buy in any supermarket or trade, this is the place that you are looking for, because their wines only sell them in your store. The visit is different from any another wineries large and well-known, very enjoyable and fun, ending with the tasting of two wines, with a good explanation of how to do it.
