Bodega El Fabulista, Laguardia
(4.2/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
Delve into a cave-like underground winery at Bodega El Fabulista. Located under the home of Félix María de Samaniego, a famous 19th-century writer of fables, this winery's bottles all have fable-related themes. See where the grapes arrive by tractor, are tipped into a concrete vat, and then are mashed by foot like in ancient times. Descend the steep, narrow stairs to the cellars below the town, and explore the cool tunnels where the wine is fermented and aged. Enter a decorated tunnel where you can enjoy a tasting with your guide, paired with explanations on the proper ways to taste and appreciate wine. Wine is sold in the cellar as well. Guided tours are available in English, but you must book in advance. • Wineries that are within the walled enclosure of Laguardia, is the best to visit and understand a little of that traditional way of making wine, which for many years have been identified throughout la Rioja. A stroll through the cellars, a very nice explanation, as its wines with fables identifying labels, is a short but very rich visit to transport us back in time. .

  • The visit has this winery was part of a tourist voucher, to the end was very illustrative and educational... In these times it is difficult to find wineries, which develop the wine with passion, traditionally also as mode of family life... Congratulations on making wine, not as work but as a way of life as well as family commitment and I hope that it lasts mas alla de generation cuarte it. We tasted three wines with good presentation and correct values of tasting, as to the palate, but mostly made with honey. It will also highlight the uniqueness of these wines since only sold at the winery, due to their small amount of production. The visit is worth

  • Traditional wine cellar where beeches. Visit more than recommended, mandatory and not by the simple made history as it has in itself, if you giving but also by good wines in the tasting and the excellent explanation that offers your guide. And you can't go without bringing you any bottle of his own home.
