Categories: Wineries & Vineyards, Food & Drink
Inspirock Rating:
4.1/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web
Delve into a cave-like underground winery at Bodega El Fabulista. Located under the home of Félix María de Samaniego, a famous 19th-century writer of fables, this winery's bottles all have fable-related themes. See where the grapes arrive by tractor, are tipped into a concrete vat, and then are mashed by foot like in ancient times. Descend the steep, narrow stairs to the cellars below the town, and explore the cool tunnels where the wine is fermented and aged. Enter a decorated tunnel where you can enjoy a tasting with your guide, paired with explanations on the proper ways to taste and appreciate wine. Wine is sold in the cellar as well. Guided tours are available in English, but you must book in advance. • Visit the branch more purist of wine-making. They do not walk here very much agree with the way the D.O. Rioja, which protects much larger wineries. However, it is worth see how made wine once and try flavors that many wineries are already forgotten by being less commercial. Fable and wines with personality, with stems and seeds.
