  • Currently a agricultural school but with the option to visit. I went with my partner and we were able to attend a guided tour in which is explained the origins and development of the monastery. Very interesting and highly recommended your visit, in addition to spectacular surroundings.

  • It is located in a village, 30 minutes from valladolid. The guide is very nice and well explained. Highly recommended to visit the Church (only with guided tour) since it is surprising how big that is, in addition to the relic of the Holy thorn

  • This Cistercian Monastery is located in the town of Santa spina, 6 km from Castromonte and about 10 km from Uruena or Villagarcia de Campos. Currently the old monastic enclosure is dedicated to agriculture and forestry, training center with internal students. The visit is guided, to 2 euros per person older than 12 years old, in groups forming until the start of the visit, to be performed every hour. We were in a festive and I had visit to 11:30, 12:30, 16:30, 17:30 and 18:30. The tour can take 45 minutes. It is passing by two Renaissance cloisters, accessing the Romanesque Chapter House, the old Romanesque sacristy of the Church and finally the Church, which boasts Romanesque chapel, another Gothic and the rest of the Renaissance Temple. Inside the Church is the relic of the Holy thorn that gave rise to the monastery, inside his shrine can be seen up to a pasillito on one side of the Church. For anyone who likes history is very interesting to come here and be able to review the various architectural styles present in the enclosure. The guide is also very enjoyable. I really enjoyed the visit, and if you pass by there fence is highly recommended to stop and take a stroll through the history.

  • In my life I have been a master class in art and history so intense in half an hour, thanks to father José Maria, with its eighty and many years but with an enviable vitality. It shows leading her life in education. It is a pity that the place is not well known; We discovered it by chance. Full of history and art and houses a relic, a thorn from the Crown of Christ.
