Roque de los Muchachos is a rocky mound at the highest point on the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands, Spain. The rocks are found at an elevation of 2,423 m above sea level, not far from the Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos, where some of the world's largest telescopes are situated; the altitude and the dryness of the climate here give rise to excellent observing conditions. The rocks are contained with the Parque Nacional de la Caldera de Taburiente. From the Roque, one can see the islands of Tenerife, El Hierro and La Gomera.

  • ... all the more fascinating the views for that! A trip to the highest mountain on the island is not only rewarding, he is a must if you're in La Palma. Always a quiet spot from which you can enjoy the gigantic view can be found in spite of many tourists. The clouds look like oversized cream mountains and give one the feeling of being no longer on this earth. Stunning it is true only in the approach. You should easily absorb the moments and enjoy. It is simply heavenly there

  • If I had to keep a single image of the island of palma her would be this amazing view at the top of this "Rock". This caldera on one side and the Observatory on the other. All this under one of purest sky of the northern hemisphere.

  • A beautiful location with spectacular views of the Caldera de Taburiente and of the other islands. Also home to many large and important telescopes which are almost as interesting as the view. The road up from Santa Cruz is very winding so I hope you don't get car sick (totally worth it even if you do). In the winter time the roads can be closed due to snow. In that case, it's fun to do as the locals do and drive up to play in it! Oh, and there are no petrol stations along the road so make sure you have enough fuel before leaving sea level...
  • Stunning view of the caldera. A must visit
  • Beautiful landscape, with friendly crows!!
  • Simply Awesome!!!! It takes your breath away!!!!!!!!!
  • Great vantage point. Duty visit in a la Palma. The best early visit. Later in the day, the parking spaces are occupied.
