  • The museum is interesting for its buildings, the gardens and the local art work it contains. It also has a very nice coffee and art shop. One of the more interesting things in the town.

  • A pleasant little gallery on the edge of town (near the home of the colonels) and can be visited on its own or as part of the route of the colonels ticket on Tuesday and Friday. The main gallery is below ground and is in a long L shape itself. This is a little odd as when you get to the end you need to retrace your steps and go back through everything again. Some nice pieces including a Cesar Manriques and a number of the more surreal pictures by Alberto Manrique (think deconstructing rooms and strange perspectives over his more traditional Canarian landscapes). We didn't know many of the artists on display but there was a lot of diversity in such a small space and nice to see Canary Island artists getting a dedicated home. There is also a shop in the entrance hall which have prints of the artworks on display plus a lot of other work by a number of the artists. The sculpture garden above ground made a nice contrast to the artworks and was well maintained with a lot of interesting pieces and accompanying planting adding to the overall effect. If you going to be critical, it's not very big and, if you rush, you can see everything in less than half an hour - however, I think that would be missing the point of a unique place that cares a lot about its subject. Highly recommended!
