El Faro de Cabo de Palos, La Manga del Mar Menor

(700+ reviews on the web)
Lighthouse Tourist Spot
Standing tall on a rocky hilltop above the town of Cabo de Palos, 81 m (265 ft) above sea level, El Faro de Cabo de Palos serves as a symbol of the city and the cape itself. Originally designed as a watchtower to help fend off pirate attacks, the lighthouse in its present form dates from 1864. Observe the tower’s flashing signal light, which lights up every ten seconds, as you admire its stone facade and elegant construction. While the lighthouse itself does not have any other facilities, the surrounding town is home to many restaurants specializing in Spanish seafood dishes. Although the lighthouse itself is not open to the public, there is a parking lot at the base of the tower from which you can marvel at the panoramic ocean views. Arrange your visit to El Faro de Cabo de Palos and discover more family-friendly attractions in La Manga del Mar Menor using our La Manga del Mar Menor vacation builder.
