  • With a little luck you can it seems it ripen all the neighboring islands. I this happiness I had-although at the top of the burning sun, below the gathered clouds, which effectively have overshadowed the spectacular probably view. A route much longer time, than this is the information on road signs.

  • We were very lucky with the weather! Clouds coming from the North and closing sky exactly this morning dispersed! Because without a clear blue sky and the Sun does not understand what is the Alto de Garojonay-the high point of La La Gomera-1482.7 m above sea level. On all sides of the world with wonderful landscapes, and giant Teide-perhaps the best ornament landscapes! Climb here is not difficult: either on the steep trail GR-131 phase 2 of Cruce de Pajaritos, either at a flat, stone-paved trail no. 7, El Contadero. Here, on the highest point of the island of La Gomera in 2002 by a group of scientists from the University of La Laguna (Tenerife), under the leadership of Professor Juan Francisco Navarro archaeological excavations were carried out. They showed that aborigines La La Gomera guanches believed this place is sacred, the closest to their heavenly deity Orahan. From here they turned to God, here sacrifices. Analyzed layer was a 6th century BC After the archaeological site was renovated Holy sacrificial circle from folded a certain way boulders-"pireos". Unfortunately, this design is overgrown with grass, but a central piece of appreciable good. During the excavations have unearthed the remains of animal bones, mostly sheep and goats, remains of plants-Canarian pine and cedar, wheat, fruits of Palm trees and Canarian all charred remains. So the "roof" La La Gomera had strategic importance. After the defeat in the war with the Spaniards in XV century in the hope of a miraculous divine intercession last free refuge guanches. Here at Alto de Garajonay somehow especially feel the space and freedom!

  • Beautiful view of one of the highest points of the island. After half an hour at max an hour's walk. Well laid out. To enjoy the view, check out the weather! As often in the clouds. See also is a former stone circle made by the aborigines.

  • Incredible views. You really do not feel that you live in an archipelago until you upload in a day cleared to the height of the garajonay and see the islands of el hierro, the palma and Tenerife around the Central magnificent. Highly recommended to climb in the afternoon to see the sunset if then it is not a problem to get off in the dark, but has a flashlight solution.
