Monte de San Pedro, La Coruna

4.6
#2 of 6 in Historic Sites in La Coruna
Monte de San Pedro, a military fort turned park, offers great walks with views of the city of A Coruña and out over the ocean. Take the unique panoramic elevator to get up the hill, where you’ll see old bunkers and cannons. The huge reach of those weapons helped to hide German submarines and boats during World War II. Try the on-site restaurant for snacks or a nice dinner. See Monte de San Pedro and all La Coruna has to offer by arranging your trip with our La Coruna trip itinerary planning app .

Monte de San Pedro is a park from which you can see la Coruña and in the distance the beaches near Ferrol. The views are very good, is also a good area's recreational lawn and even side there are a few barbecues where do churrasco. It should be noted that it was one of the main defences of la Coruña and is still a huge cannon to which it is possible to get. Ideal for children

In my opinion, perfect Excursion for the afternoon. Very easy to get, free parking, and if you want to go and see great landscapes, not leave disappointed there. Incredible views of A Coruña and if you want to always relax you can lie on the grass. There is Cafe and is ideal for travelling with children.

We visited this park with the children in the afternoon and very much enjoyed. The views that are spectacular. From there, we could see above all A Coruña, both the port and the beach area. And we also saw part of the relief of the coast. The Park is very well care, clean and with several areas so that children can play. Another day we visit are going to spend the day there.

  • Very nice views and interesting scenery. There is a bush labyrinth and a route of bunkers and cannons
  • A wonderful and exceptional place where you can enjoy unique views of the entire environment of the city of A Coruña. Especially the windy days of no rain can enjoy the wind in your face and the breaking of the waves on the rocks. In the distance the Tower of Hercules. You can upload by car, walking down a dark path or in bubble zipper for 3 euros from the promenade. It also boasts unique coffee shop and restaurant. The Park is green and wooded and is well taken care of. It even has some another ruin. Nothing more I can tell you it was a short visit. Bye.

  • Site beautiful and curious, since in it an old zone with military batteries. They have public toilets and there is a nice bar-restaurant with amazing views.

  • Beautiful place from which sees all of la Coruña. It has several cannons and trenches. A good place to spend an afternoon with the family or the couple. By putting a snag, the ascensor-mirador of glass is a little expensive.
