  • This is one of those attractions that does exactly what it says on the tin in that there are displayed here the remains of a Roman Villa. The site isn’t massive but seeing as it’s free you can’t compl...  more »
  • It came out in 1979, when one would construct a car park not far from the beach of Albir, encountered some unusual stengrunder. It turned out to be the remains of a Roman villa that had its heyday in the years 400-500 e.Kr. This clearly lived a man who produced oil and wine, and which had their own bathing area. During the early 2000s, large parts of the area grävits out (especially that which had once been the Roman bath) and today there is a nicely organized outdoor museum on the site, with walkways, ramps and a large, protective roofs. In a small museum building displays both a video from the area (with English subtitles) and some found objects. An interesting visit, friendly staff and no entrance. The Museum is included in the general education for those living or visiting the area. Here was a high culture as in the North, there were iron age and people built kungahögar.
