Trip Planner: Europe / Spain / Extremadura / Province of Caceres / Jerte / Nature / Garganta de los Infiernos
Garganta de los Infiernos is a nature reserve whose elevation allows thick vegetation to grow in abundance. A few rough trails wind through the hills and rocks. Wear sturdy hiking boots to traverse the reserve on foot, or opt for a guided 4x4 tour that you can book over the phone. Photographers can make arrangements on the website for a private nature photography workshop in the reserve, which includes night photography sessions. All the tour offerings can be customized to accommodate your interests. Work out when and for how long to visit Garganta de los Infiernos and other Jerte attractions using our handy Jerte family vacation planner.

Llegamos al Valle del Jerte tarde, si, con los Cerezos ya sin flor por más que todas las web destacaban que era buena semana. Pues no... ni rastro de flor en ello. Esperemos que las cerezas sean espec... more »We arrived at the Valle del Jerte, Yes, with cherry trees already without flowers even if all web highlighted that it was a good week. Maybe not... no sign of flower on it. Let us hope that the cherries are spectacular. Now, seeing what they could not see we venture to go to the Garganta de los Infiernos (not long ago did the cascade of purgatory - everything that heaven does not deserve it). I have to say that there is land car - all services which you climb up to above for €10 per person. To us it seemed too we were two adults and two teenagers and seeing that the stage to the pylons was 3.5 km and is made in 50' decided to make it walk. It is advisable to start down the road of the forest, although it seems more hard is very pretty and is cut. If you go up by the way of the all-terrain it is harder and more long and is better to make it down. As you're raising one can imagine being in one of the forests in the Lord of the rings. When it comes up you meet a Causeway of stone than to turn a little sudaras it but worth it. We are already on the bridge and see the kettles sculpted by water over the years. It is a marvel. We crossed the bridge and headed up the river by the banks and to the point where the water dances unrealistically and passes it as well you become a mere spectator dazzled by image and sound. To have fun!View original

Spectacular views of cherry blossoms are the wealth of the Jerte Valley. Be sure to visit it.View original
One of the highlights of the Valle del Jerte valley (apart from the cherry trees). The waterfall is impressive and the walk is very pleasant. You can come back via the Pista Forestal in order to add some variety to the walk. There are always lots of people on the walk.
Nice place, but the steep road to it..
Mery BlancoPlace to visit at all times of year. Best in summer is clear. But it is worth seeing the change of color of the rocks in all seasonsView original
M GThroat precious, although you have to go well prepared because there is that enough walking, we were walking from the campsite itself and wearing comfortable clothing and water is well made. You also have the option that you will rise in 4 X 4, are caught at foot of this restaurant just before entering the camping.View original
Daniel González GutiérrezA wonderful to spend the day, well maintained site with lots of water even in October that still has not happened.View original
