  • The Castle has a limited visiting hours and tickets are purchased at the tourist office. The guide was very correct in his explanation on the origins of the Castle, saw a small documentary of 10 min that is very well as support visual and explanatory of the visit. We also enjoy the magnificent views, two exhibitions (medieval crafts and weapons), down to the Dungeon and tank and rise to the Torre del Homenaje, site dedicated to Rafael Alberti. Recommended and not to be missed if you visit Iznájar.

  • It's a steep walk up to the castle (you can drive but the roads are narrow), it was closed when we got there, so was the church, there's a nice cafe near the top and the views from the top are lovely,...  more »
  • I recommend a day visit by the white villages of la Subbética Mountains (South of Córdoba): Santa fe, Iznajar, Rute, Lucena, Cabra, Zuheros and Priego de Córdoba (slept in this last which is one of the best in the area). We did it by car and it is very easy to access by perfect little winding roads that have their charm, well marked and always surrounded by olive groves, ride and very beautiful and enjoyable. The white villages are wonderful, all have their charm. Iznájar has the characteristic that is seen from the road as a white village on a hill and at its peak is a castle, but the most striking is that is surrounded by a large reservoir of Turquoise, yellow fields in September (autumn) completely covered with olive groves. A beauty. I highly recommend it. Always in these villages is left the car in parking sometimes public and other payment and can be covered on foot. Worth, live and enjoy this adventure.

  • Tours can be booked via the Tourist Office. There was a small Art Gallery in the castle when I visited. Moorish ruins date back nearly a thousand years.
  • A must see
  • Is a little damaged but the Arab aljibe is preserved in perfect condition

  • A risk going to see this castle because there is no enough people person that in theory teaches us said that I had things more important to do. Taking into account the time it takes to reach this village and the inconvenience that we take to drop off some eurillos, or eat something in a terrace I sat like a kick in the balls. Lack of education and common sense.
