A natural cave under a very stratified rock, with strata gaining height from right to left, are home to the Virgin of the cave and chapels that were built later. The image is a polychromed of cedar from the 18TH century, covered with an old embroidered mantle, of about 45 cm in height. The Virgin has stuck in the chest a 'V', which some interpret as the initial of «Villanueva» by repetition in other similar sizes. In 1985, it was restored by Juan José García Castañedo.show original
