  • This was my seventh visit to Tenerife and although always had heard talk about cave, wind never had visited it. I didn't know what I was missing! The visit itself starts at the visitor center, where through some videos and a few information panels on one side explains types of lava that is there and the process of cooling in the eruptions, which creates the surprising ways that we see often. Then it goes on van to the area of the cave of the wind, where the visit continuous surroundings with an emphasis on the different formations created by the lava and the flora of the surroundings, seeing parts of the cave, as the "chasm of the old" from the outside, to finally enter the cave itself. For those who are more accustomed to karst caves, is a landscape new, stalactites and stalagmites, and with different formations created by the tunnels by lava and the explanation at all times of as they were formed. The truth is that the visit is more than entertaining and can learn a lot about volcanic formations and their types as well as their reason. During whole journey our guide made us continuous references and explanations to different aspects of the culture of the Canary Islands, both culturally (guanches) and in the gourmet (gofio, guachinches, etc...) To give an idea of how quickly that time passes in the visit, simply comment that although the visit has an estimated duration of 2 hours, we were almost 3, and never becomes heavy, even to look at the time several surprised while we had and how quickly that we had made. Another point in favor of the cave is that it is not crowded tourist destinations, which allows an adequate conservation both the cave and the environment, hopefully follow long time as well, since it is a small hidden island paradise.

  • We were at the cave of the wind today. Through the website, we had reserved and worked all super. After a quite spectacular arrival by car, one is assigned very welcome and slowly but captivating on the theme of volcano. After a short introduction tour started our guide Monika and told us just about the cave, and why it is as it is. The tour took a total of 3 hours (although 2 were announced) and has huge fun. Then, you can see the island with different eyes. For a guided tour, you should reserve NECESSARILY before online. On the day, namely 4 tours take place with max 14 people for conservation reasons. You can choose between following languages: Spanish, English, german and French. For those who want to extend their interest and knowledge, it is advisable to book the tour for "Advanced" directly with. Unfortunately we leave on Friday, but we had with on Saturday the tour, as far as we understand, only with Blue Man, to do this knee & Edgar bow saver. As decision know next time! Thank you Monika and the team very great and super warm the magnet comes on our fridge :) Freddy & Steffi
