ARTlandya, Icod de los Vinos

4.9
#1 of 27 in Museums in Tenerife
A Tenerife alternative to sun and sand, ARTlandya displays a big collection of dolls created by internationally renowned artists. Filled with teddy bears and dolls made of porcelain, vinyl, wax, wood, felt, and other materials, the museum provides a glimpse into the world of artistic creation. The onsite workshop remains one of the main reasons to visit this unusual attraction, a place where you cam watch artists at work. Learn about the tools and techniques needed to produce a high-quality porcelain doll, then explore the surrounding park to discover typical island plants, like blossoming oleanders, cacti, citrus trees, and hibiscuses. • Since we have now taken the step, we are on Sunday visit to Ingrid & Georg dangers and of course watch ARTlandya. This is a very special place, led by Ingrid & George. We were thrilled by the lovingly guided and the expert guided tour of the Museum. Artlandya is actually a Museum, not a Toy Museum. The dolls and teddy bears are produced by well-known artists many of whom are of limited edition. In addition, you can see how porcelain dolls are created. The Museum is near the town of ICOD de los Vinos as bonus - the Museum has a fantastic garden with lemon trees, etc. Refreshments are available in a small café. Who makes holiday on Tenerife is a must to go there.

  • A magical and surprising place. Takes you back to childhood and leaves you speechless with authentic works of art on display. There are many words that can describe it. It is better to see it. The owner is a lovely person. When we arrived it was lunchtime and we did not know the area or where to go (we were a couple with two children aged 12). Worried about calling a local restaurant by phone to see if it was open and we gave all indications that got well. Then, we went to visit the Museum and he explained everything to us (even how dolls are made) with a dedication which left us happy. This place deserves to be announced and promoted.

  • Suddenly, the road to the beach stopped at Icod. Visited the tree Museum of Malvasia and heard about the doll museum. It's easy to find, though it is far away from the city centre and Santa Barbara (!)) Take the signs, they are very good and clearly arranged, climb high up the Hill. ... And finally arrive to the House, where the parking lot. Not very many people at once, apparently with us proved to be another Russian! family. After Sadiq, you go to the House with the cashier, where you pay per visit €10, then the host will indicate where the dolls, and where bears. With these words, like much else, he speaks in Russian! Hearing that we, too, from Russia, the host delayed tour that we too could listen together with compatriots. It was very competently, because even though he is trying desperately to say something in Russian, but English still preferred, and we shook each other translated that understand the production of dolls. And it proved to be very interesting! When the boss is a fan of his business, and his eyes burn with fire, all of the preceding is perceived as a tale involving a doll! The Museum unusually multifaceted, dolls of different countries, styles, material; in another Hall-teddy bears! A miracle! Other Russians left and my husband all wandered, husband rejoiced as a youngster, photographed each doll! I have a bit of cursing even on it. Hearing that we're still here, we again host and additionally told many interesting things. And then another had cappuccino) and said that he was German!-extremely good refers to the Russians, as great art lovers. In general... We have not gone to the beach. But 4:00 held in society an unusually talented person, love to all 100. This is now a rarity-meet this! .... Visit! Do not miss this! The Museum is stunning.

  • Hidden paradise! The dolls... the teddies and the amazing structure they have build around the museum is a paradise!
  • Worth the visit. Amazing collection.
  • I arrived Artlandya at a gloomy raining day but the experience there was wonderful and unforgettable. The collection of dolls and teddy bears are impressive, from the magic hands of 41 talent artists around the world. The owner of measum are hospitality and knowledgeable. With a free private "guided tour", I got a better understanding of stories behind collections and the history of this beautiful garden-like measum. Anyway, it is a unique and fantastic visit and highly recommend to people who travel around Icod.
  • Visited Artlandya with my wife and 3 kids. What a great experience we had and the place is hosted by lovely and friendly couple. We were introduced to the art of doll making and my daughter was highly interested and had tons of questions which George answered. My twins boys who could care less for anything that has to do with art did get bored after visiting just half way through the 1st building that housed the dolls but George the owner had let them in free of charge anyway😊and they did have a great time running and exploring around the huge beautiful well kept garden. The place is really beautiful and a most visit if you are looking for an alternative to the beaches. We were staying on the southern part of the Island and the drive was about roughly an hour from our rented flat which offered a beautiful scenery during the drive. At the end of our visit the owners on learning we were doing some of our own cooking on our vacation allowed us pluck some fruits and herbs from their vast garden and we made the best lemonade I have ever tasted from their lemons.
  • A very unique and interesting place hosted by wonderful people who with knowledge and engagement explained the art of puppet making. Highly recommended!
