  • Hometown of Martín Alonso Pinzón captain of the Pinta and Vicente Yañez Pinzón captain of the girl. Most of the crew of the 3 caravels were linked to these two sailors with experience. It is a pretty well maintained city located on the banks of the estuary of the Tinto. From its ancient port (sticks) split the three caravels with Colon. Currently the estuary was leaving sediments and disappeared the port. Why later heading to Huelva on a modern dock were reproductions to scale of the three caravels and there is a museum with all the details of travel, instruments etc. Very interesting. At the end of the village is a cistern of the Arab era, where Columbus and his crew took the drinking water for your trips.
