#1 of 17 in Things to do in Haro
Bodegas Muga grows vines in a climate protected by the Montes Obarenses, making for healthy grapes and rich flavors. The grape varieties grown on the 620 acres (1 sq mi) of land include Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo, Graciano, Viura, and Malvasia, each with its own distinctive flavor due to the carefully managed soil. Reserve a spot in a wine-tasting class to learn how to discover the nuances of the wines, or simply visit the shop and tasting room on site. • A traditional Winery worth seeing, the visit lasts 90 minutes approximately, show you the wine cellar, the Guide, very professional, took care of all doubts and explained the process of the elaboration of the wine in a clear and simple way. As for the tasting another red and a white wine also offer service wine bar so that you can try other wines. I loved it and recommend it without a doubt

  • Stopped here on the trip from San Sebastian to Madrid pretty early in the morning. Had a wine tasting and all the wine was very nice. Bought a few bottles to bring home at a very good price.  more »
  • Visits to wineries is a must in Haro. We chose CVNE for ease in the reservation from your website and we were surprised by the experience. Know your story (told in a very entertaining way by the way), see different ships where is van performed processes and enjoy a tasting. The Guide's visit a success, great Communicator and availability to answer any questions from the group. The very beautiful Winery buildings

  • Massive winery offering tours scheduled in advance. Interesting to learn about their production and see their Cooperage as they're the only Winery in the area that makes their own barrels. Tasting is 10 euros per person and includes a sample of 2 wines one white and one red, and you keep your glass. Overall felt fairly commercial but still worth a visit.
  • Super experience with the tasting, and the staff was fantastic for us. Don't try to ship wine to the US - although it *can* be done, it is expensive and takes a while - far better to jam 20 bottles into your luggage and fly with them!
  • Great tour. Only €10 with tasting of 3 wines and a free wine glass to take home.
  • Easy going tour in an impressive winery. We chose Muga among other 4 wineries not only because of their wines, but because they have a cooper workshop, which did not disappoint.
  • A bit too touristy, sadly the thing that impressed us the most was the old cash register, and maybe the train outside. The wines are all very traditional and unfortunately none of the 5 reds we tried really impressed, though the white was admittedly quite nice. The flight experience wasn't helped by the smell of bleach in the tasting room.
