Make up your own mind about these six mysterious lava pyramids and explore the park that surrounds them at Piramides de Guimar. Archaeologists from all over the world have an opinion on why these pyramids were created and who built them, but they have been dated to the 19th century CE. Learn about the theories at the information center through artifacts, displays, and a documentary. Three walking routes take you through the park’s gardens with information about the Canary Islands displayed along each. Be sure to check out the poisonous plants garden. The park has a cafe and souvenir shop. To visit Piramides de Guimar and other attractions in Guimar, use our Guimar trip generator.

  • Interesting theory questioning when old poblations actually started crossing the Atlantic, that they show you on video. Impressive amount of plants from Canary Islands at the archeological site. Way too expensive for what it actually offers.
  • Yes, there are piramides in Tenerife. While not as famous as the ones in Egypt or South Americe they still offer a good experience. There is even an inside cinema with a short documentary explaining about the origin of these.
  • The pyramids were interesting to visit and an unexpected and intriguing find... If any of it is actually real.
  • Entrance for the pyramids was 11€ in 03/2016 and 18€ for all three exhibitions. This is a ridiculus price for what you can see.
  • Very interesting. Changed my view of the pyramids. If this was done by farmers, they must have been highly knowledgeable about pyramid building principles.
