Make up your own mind about these six mysterious lava pyramids and explore the park that surrounds them at Piramides de Guimar. Archaeologists from all over the world have an opinion on why these pyramids were created and who built them, but they have been dated to the 19th century CE. Learn about the theories at the information center through artifacts, displays, and a documentary. Three walking routes take you through the park’s gardens with information about the Canary Islands displayed along each. Be sure to check out the poisonous plants garden. The park has a cafe and souvenir shop. With our online itinerary creator, Guimar attractions like Piramides de Guimar can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Beautiful scenery all around! It's very hot so make sure you are ready. Lovely for a walk around the beautiful gardens and the pyramids!
  • Loved it but so much to see. Should have tried to book a guide and gone by private transport rather than booking a tour. Also, the for guide, on the bus, had loads to say to the Spanish speakers but not much for the British etc. The guide at Guimar was EXCELLENT! She really knew her stuff! Could happily have stayed at least twice the 2 hours allowed.
  • Not that much history, but if you like to know more about Thor Heyerdahl and his ideas than it is a must to go. I found it quite interesting to learn a lot about local plants and development in the past.
  • A fascinating visit. This place is as much about the life and adventures of Thor Hyerdal as it is about the canarian pyramids- I was totally captivated. Well worth a visit.
  • The pyramids are amazing to look at and is worth a visit if you are into ancient history and pyramids around the world.
