Salinas de Teguise, Guatiza

(3.4/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web)
Learn about the natural resource that the island of Lanzarote prospered from with a trip to Salinas de Teguise, the local sea salt flats. Formerly one of the island's most lucrative sources of income, the industry has seen a major decline in recent years as real estate converts the seafront to hotel property. The salt industry flourished before freezing fish at sea became an option; harvested sea salt was used on fishing boats to preserve catches. Visit what remains of this dwindling industry with a trip to the derelict sea flats, where you can still see the long stretches of cordoned off vats. Put Salinas de Teguise at the forefront of your travel plans using our Lanzarote tour planner.

  • If you're from El Golfo to Playa Blanca rides to get to practically all along. Stop here is worth it. There is also another restaurant at, behind which looks down from the height on the salt fields. Beautiful photos shot.
