They are the ruins of a Cistercian Monastery 40 km from Zamora, from the 9th century but the Church has a 12th-century Romanesque, the blocks are stone cuarcitica, containing impressive and countless brands of different beds. The plant is immense with a wonderful priest, Chapel and ambulatory opens to 7 chapels. The header has three levels, the first with 7 apses, the 2nd is the central and the 3rd is the main Chapel. Inside of the header is amazing, the walls of the chapel stand over 9 arches and they are held on 8 columns.

Among orchards and oak are the ruins of the Monaterio of Santa María de Moreruela. The remains suggests the grandiosida of this monastery, though like all Cistercian Temple contains a little ornamentation. The cloister has disappeared

  • Ruins of important Romanesque Cistercian Monastery in the province of Zamora close to the route of the silver. Site with special charm, despite being in ruins is impressive. The head of the Church of seven apses is quite well preserved.

  • A secluded and discreet place where resides one of the jewels that you can find in Castilla y León. It is a monastery that was desamortizado and thanks to national subsidies and the European Union has been able to return and meet part of its original beauty. It has an enormous amount of stonework marks. Free entrance.

  • A beautiful place to visit

  • The mixture of ruin, architecture and wildlife, gives it a special atmosphere. Surrounded by storks and herons there is one person of the Board to report on the monastery from Wednesday to Sunday. Recommend: Take a walk around the whole

  • In the way of Benavente arise surprises. San Cebrián de Castro, the ruins of the ancient city of Castrotorafe can be seen. Few kilometers ahead, makes its appearance the monastery of Moreruela. Granja de Moreruela is already close to the detour that can lead us to the Salinas de Villafáfila, one of the sites of Castilla y León of greater ecological wealth.
