Palace of Charles V, Granada

3.6
This stunning palace called Palace of Charles V is a popular attraction in the area where you can admire architecture and culture of the 1500s. The exterior of the building is especially impressive, but you will find only the southern and western sides decorated. Don’t miss the inner patio that is uniquely circular and composed of two levels. While the interior is quite plain, be sure to check out the museum in the same building that features an art gallery. • We pass to visit the Palace Nazaries then just long enough to get to watch the destruction of a building ch has no connection with the surrounding environment.

  • The Palace of Carlos V is located in the Alhambra area within the city walls and is a beautiful Renaissance building with a façade of rough blocks downstairs and finished on second floor as several buildings of the same era. What is surprising is the circular Interior patio which is a cutting edge solution. Remarkable architecture.

  • This Renaissance building located in the Alhambra has a huge courtyard circulate inside. It is a must-see when visiting the large complex. It is headquarters of the Museum of fine arts in Granada since 1958 and the Museum of the Alhambra since 1994.

  • Unfinished newer palace, the front entrance is noteworthy and impressive, and the huge interior circular courtyard (not a good term, as the space is more like a bullfighting arena) is incredible, but otherwise not spectacular. Houses a museum.
  • Amazing architecture. Plenty to see and entry is sensibly priced. A must to see if visiting the area.
  • An unique and incredible journey into the arabian past of the Spanish heritage!
  • It is like Coloseum in Rome. There is a lot of people who arw making wedding pictures ;). You can visit this place in 10 minutes
  • Beautiful on the outside. Sort of plain on the inside compared to the Alhambra.

Where to stay in Granada

Granada is built in a valley looking up to the majestic Alhambra, and most visitors choose to stay where the view can be admired. Plaza Nueva, just down the hill from the Alhambra entry gates, constitutes the touristic center of the city. Many of the famous free-tapas bars and lively restaurants line this famous plaza, as well as a number of small hotels and apartment rentals. Found directly behind the plaza are the city's two historical old Moorish quarters, Albayzín and El Sacramonte, which are characterized by their narrow winding streets and picturesque whitewashed buildings. Here you'll find a number of charming hotels with hillside views of the Alhambra and city center.
