  • A beautiful little museum to explore how people lived in these caves until relatively recently. It is packed with objects and information about the crafts of the people, the local topography, flora an...  more »
  • There is no other Word to describe it. Unbeatable for enjoying a flamenco show frame and now Wednesdays of August at a great price. It has a bar offering drinks and snacks. Very well.

  • It was a neat little place with interesting history. Several small caves display the various tools and home goods used by the gypsies who used to inhabit the area. There were signs written in both Spanish and English explaining the history and providing information. It was in a hilly area so we had to walk up some slightly steep steps and there was an entrance fee (€5 I think).
  • Nice insight into the gitano tradition in Granada and its links to flamenco. Some of the analyses could be more hard hitting re socio-economic and historical reasons which led to the growth of sacromonte area.
  • Not so impresive compared to a lot of better places to visit in Granada. Entrance of 5 Euro reasonable.
  • Cute little museum; not a must-see but a pleasant way to spend an hour up in Sacromonte.
  • Small but interesting museum. Worth a visit.

Where to stay in Granada

Granada is built in a valley looking up to the majestic Alhambra, and most visitors choose to stay where the view can be admired. Plaza Nueva, just down the hill from the Alhambra entry gates, constitutes the touristic center of the city. Many of the famous free-tapas bars and lively restaurants line this famous plaza, as well as a number of small hotels and apartment rentals. Found directly behind the plaza are the city's two historical old Moorish quarters, Albayzín and El Sacramonte, which are characterized by their narrow winding streets and picturesque whitewashed buildings. Here you'll find a number of charming hotels with hillside views of the Alhambra and city center.
