House where was born (5-6-1898) (and later summer) the great poet, dramatist, prose writer, and literary Federico Gacía Lorca, of the 'generation of 27'. Restored House Museum, while retaining its essence. The guide is very helpful and knows its history. He was shot in the area of large supply, near Alfacar (Granada) by the Francoist regime (as that step later renamed Alliance Popular and currently is the Spanish Popular Party).

  • It isn't bad, but they have to know that the House of Valderrubio, where Lorca and his family lived before moving to Granada, is huge and much more attractive to visit, with a guide, grandson of a friend of Lorca, who knows everything and more about the House and the family. They have also prepared an excellent audiovisual show. If it is less known that Fuentevaqueros is because it does not belong to the Council, by which not is given so much publicity. We went by chance and just happy to.

Where to stay in Granada

Granada is built in a valley looking up to the majestic Alhambra, and most visitors choose to stay where the view can be admired. Plaza Nueva, just down the hill from the Alhambra entry gates, constitutes the touristic center of the city. Many of the famous free-tapas bars and lively restaurants line this famous plaza, as well as a number of small hotels and apartment rentals. Found directly behind the plaza are the city's two historical old Moorish quarters, Albayzín and El Sacramonte, which are characterized by their narrow winding streets and picturesque whitewashed buildings. Here you'll find a number of charming hotels with hillside views of the Alhambra and city center.
