Mirador de San Nicolas, Granada

4.7
Mirador de San Nicolas offers unbeatable views of the Alhambra, the city’s main tourist attraction. Stretch your legs with a walk up the hill to this popular viewpoint, located at the highest point in this part of the city, or hop on one of many minibuses regularly operating in the area for a less strenuous sightseeing experience. The advantage of this location is that it’s free and open 24 hours a day. Whatever time of day you’re there, take plenty of photos, but be sure to mingle with the crowds to soak up the atmosphere and take in the local culture. For me one of the places most beautiful that exists. I'm from Granada and provided that comes my family's visit and wants to know Granada take them here. It is one of the most beautiful and spectacular of the city. The worst is climbing so much slope and a little hard to find the viewpoint if you don't know the path since signage is almost nil because the Albayzín is like a maze. But that is the charm of this district so characteristic of the city. The coasts from the viewpoint are to stay out of breath. It is the city of Granada and the Alhambra with the Generalife. If Sierra Nevada snow it is to run out of breath. If you come to Granada is an essential place. When you reach the viewpoint hot flashes and tiredness of the slopes are forgotten.

Where to stay in Granada

Granada is built in a valley looking up to the majestic Alhambra, and most visitors choose to stay where the view can be admired. Plaza Nueva, just down the hill from the Alhambra entry gates, constitutes the touristic center of the city. Many of the famous free-tapas bars and lively restaurants line this famous plaza, as well as a number of small hotels and apartment rentals. Found directly behind the plaza are the city's two historical old Moorish quarters, Albayzín and El Sacramonte, which are characterized by their narrow winding streets and picturesque whitewashed buildings. Here you'll find a number of charming hotels with hillside views of the Alhambra and city center.
