  • The Iglesia del Sagrario... love your site, next to the Cathedral and in a central square, its facade and its interior. It is worth visiting it.

  • About the year 1704, the great mosque-Aljama (Nasrid) was demolished. The researchers called it as one of the main architectural manifestos of the modern age. It was one of the first works undertaken by the institution of the Crown of Granada. Under the "Zirí" dynasty was the Grand Mosque more of this city (1015). In 1693 named Archbishop of this diocese Martin of Ascalgorta, takes the decision of knock down it, being so and in the year 1704, are you responsible for to the Lucena Fco. Hurtado left its construction. It became a magna building in Baroque style, of Greek cross plan. In his work got lumped together under a same space: Catedral-Capilla Real-Sagrario, could not see it terminated by his death, ended it José of Bada. His first step was to change the Solomonic columns by Corinthian. San Pedro presides over the Church. Next to the Cathedral façade give the pasiegas square. We want to remind you, that in this door were received the Emperor Carlos V and his wife Isabel of Portugal. Inside include countless pictures belonging to the 15TH and 16TH, religious images of great artistic value and above all a unique baptismal Renaissance. Please!, do not miss it.
