  • The Hospital Real has very impressive architecture. It is used by the University and there is plenty of activity there all the time. The building is very large.
  • The former Royal Hospital in Granada Hospital Real was founded in the year 1492 as a hospital for the sick and Almshouse. Still unfinished building, but as a hospital began to work in the year 1525. The roof was completed in the year 1640, although work and reconstruction were carried out during the XVI-XVIII centuries. The building is unique, it is an eclectic work, where different styles are mixed, it is elements of Gothic and Renaissance and Mudejar. In the year 1961 Royal Hospital was bought by the Ministry of education. Currently, the building houses the headquarters of the Rector of the University of Granada, the University Library and some of the central management services.
