Barranco de Guayadeque, Gran Canaria
(4.5/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
Barranco de Guayadeque is a cliff top filled with indigenous plants and natural caves originally settled by pioneers on the island. Visit the museum for a look at many of the artifacts they left behind. You can drive or catch a tour bus to see the caves themselves, many of which are still inhabited today, though they are now wired for electricity. Some of the residents may even invite you inside. A restaurant on the cliff offers traditional Canarian fare such as fried pork, traditionally prepared boiled potatoes, and local wine. • The Barranco Guayadeque is like an oasis in the desert: rich in green and fresh because they always sheltered from the Sun. Is already nice to explore by car, but even better to walk in between. On the advice of an inhabitant of a cave, we made the footpath where the asphalt road, 4.5 km, leads to Caldera de los Marteles and loved (barrier post with yellow mark). For those who have more time and legs from the Caldera can continue up to Pico de las Nieves (in this case total 7 km one way). Good walk!

  • One of the attractions in Gran Canaria that I always enjoy visiting with my friends is the Barranco de Guayadeque with his restaurants in the caves and its wild landscape. I prefer the last restaurant well looked after with great service and a beautiful food.

  • The view from the place is great, however with respect to the caves - there are really not much to see here..
  • Breathtaking, it's got to be one of the most spectacular valleys in Europe.
  • Have found it as a top 10 hint for GC. Hoping the other nine are better. Probably the green valley is teasing some people.
  • Very good site for descansar.silencio, comfort; very clean! that left me amazed! Very good food! Wonderful as the family care. I would like to congratulate the great team of people who work there. To all many thanks for your care and dedication. It is to repeat until soon greetings...

  • You should certainly visit it. Wonderful views, curious restaurants made within Casas Cuevas. There are trails to walk.
