Lake Banyoles, Girona
(4.5/5 based on 360+ reviews on the web)
The largest lake in the province of Catalonia, Lake Banyoles offers both relaxation and a multitude of aquatic activities. With a shoreline of 9.3 km (5.8 mi), this 2.1 km (1.3 mi) long lake is ringed by tree-covered hills, small towns, and green spaces. Hike around the lake and the surrounding forests on a network of trails that connect the town of Banyoles with neighboring villages. Take a dip in one of the many swimming areas, or rent a canoe or kayak to explore. The lake hosted the rowing events for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Grab a drink and a bite to eat at one of the many cafes along the shore, many of which serve local freshwater fish, such as carp, pike, and eel. Bicycles and scooters are available for rent at facilities along the waterfront, along with English-language boat tours traversing the lake. • I went after eating, to take a walk with my nieces and nephews. The light was wonderful and the trees wore its ochre and golden colours of autumn. It's great to skirting the Lake, by a completely flat walk, and with a truly idyllic landscape. Often they advanced us bicycles, but everything was really quiet and fantastic. Worth knowing and stroll. I'll be back again.

  • Is a little paradise very close to barcelona, we bordered the Lake together with our dogs, they are about 8kms, with millions of nooks that each amazes you rather than the above, I recommend 100% people skirt it and does not remain just where you are the boats the negative part is that they have built too close and that breaks all his magic there is a bar with a good atmosphere but the treatment is quite bad and slow It took 1 hour to get a burger and a pork loin sandwich

  • You can visit surrounding it by car or walking, since it has a promenade that runs along it entire. That Yes, better with warmth!
