Enjoy uninterrupted views of the deep blue Cantabrian Sea from Santa Catalina Headland (Cerro de Santa Catalina), a park perched high above Gijón and the sea. This park is a great place to enjoy a walk or picnic amid sweeping views of the surrounding mountains, town, and sea. Strolling through the expansive green space, you'll find an ancient fort and the iconic Elegy to the Horizon (Elegio del Horizante) sculpture by Eduardo Chillida. Kids will enjoy the play area, especially the jungle gym shaped like a traditional fishing boat, complete with masts. Enjoy a meal at the on-site cafeteria.
