  • In art as in the colors there are taste and opinions for all. Walking by the beach of San Lorenzo, past el Rinconin is the statue. Be careful with children that can cause nightmares at night. It is something like the giants of "Jack and the Beanstalk". Recommend, as well as the "mother" you look to the Cantabrian Sea and enjoy the views.

  • Ideally, the promenade of the wall (the beach) and the rinconin. It evokes the emigrants and people of the sea, it is not very spectacular, but visitors should know what inevitably look at the sea and not to think in those who left those coming or in those who are leaving or coming to a Spaniard

  • Face body movements that insinuates the statue of the mother saying goodbye to your son's impact during the ride.

  • A typical place in Gijón, better get walking to the edge of the sea. The iconic sculpture is a symbol of the city

  • When they placed the sculpture, appeared at the town of Gijón awful, experienced it as "La Lloca" (La Loca). It suffered even a bomb blast of low power. Today, it is one of the most beloved emblems of the city. It shakes its pathos. It is worth a visit, and if it is a comfortable stroll there bliss will be complete, ignore me.

  • It is the first sculpture of modern language installed in a public space in the city. As it will happen later, formal transgression will provoke a lively debate between the gijoneses at this time. Currently, it is one of sculptures more features of the city, with a strong symbolic sense. Located in the Paseo de el Rinconin, mother looks to the sea, to which reaches degarradoramente one of his hands. Muriedas tried to capture in her suffering so many Asturian and gijonesas that looked at how their children should be starting in search of a life better.

  • El Rinconin Lloca, mythical of Gijón. And one of the areas most beautiful city to walk.
