  • Reviled in its early years, this sculpture of aluminous concrete has become today a symbol of Gijón. Inaugurated in 1990, this work of 10 meters high and about 500 tons crowns the Hill of Santa Catalina. From there the views are spectacular; You can see a good part of the city and a portion of the Bay of Biscay. In this creation of Eduardo Chillida, the sea, the Earth and the sky seem to converge. There are points under the work in which is makes feel with multiplied force the reverberation of the wind. Is reaches to her giving a nice ride by Cimavilla.

  • Is good site to visit in Gijón, both in winter as summer. The views are very good and you have a good piece to walk. Don't forget the camera, the truth that is worth immortalizing these moments. The monument is cuioso, and as in every city... Each site has its charm.

  • It is a sculpture in concrete in a great place to observe the sea, situated in a privileged site that once was a defensive vantage point against vessels arriving from the sea. It is a quiet place ideal for enjoying the solitude.

  • Superb view, You will feel like you r in heaven (if weather support) ;) If you like hilli places , sea and view from top.....this is a perfect blend of all three
  • A visit up here is a must! A wonderful view over the water and you can see the Mountains behind the city. Beutiful place.
  • A beautiful park with great views "decorated" by a rare glob and not much sense. In my opinion - of ignorant, clear - that amount of concrete is employed in a way much more valuable and useful in any of the many viaducts, bridges, etc. that exist in Asturias.

  • A beautiful and unique place made by the Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillada for a landmark of Gijón is the Hill of Santa Catalina. Visit obliged. It should be placed under/inside the praise to perceive the sound of the sea. Insured Selfies. Recommended photos.

  • Park next to cliff with wonderful views (if not get fog). Ideal for a stroll and see Gijón from above.
