Cristobal Balenciaga Museum, Getaria
Categories: Specialty Museums, Museums
Former home to the Marqués and Marquesa of Casa Torres, the mentors of Balenciaga during his lifetime, Cristobal Balenciaga Museum is situated on a hilltop overlooking Getaria. Inside the villa is the largest collection of Balenciaga pieces in the world, tastefully displayed in a space designed by Julián Argilagos. In addition to admiring the fine dresses draped on mannequins, you can sign up for embroidery workshops that teach adults how to execute the delicate work that gives Balenciaga's work its distinction. Register for the workshops on the museum's website before your visit.
