4.3/5 based on 40+ reviews on the web
Situated high above the city, Castillo del Aguila boasts an ancient heritage and superb views of the surrounding landscape. The imposing structure was originally established in Roman times, although it has been rebuilt on several occasions over the centuries. Tour the picturesque castle grounds and admire the stunning vista. Keep your eyes peeled for a number of local birds, including vultures, thrushes, and the eagles that give the castle its name. Although the paved trail up looks daunting, most visitors can manage the hike without too much difficulty. A cafe at the top serves drinks, but it's still a good idea to bring a bottle of water with you. To visit Castillo del Aguila and other attractions in Gaucin, use our Gaucin tourist route planner.

  • The views are amazing, can see the narrow and the North of Africa without problems, the castle is rather a strong with a tower. Notice the rise is tortuous.
