  • Worth the walk up the steep hill just for the views to the sea and the bays / beaches of Furingirola from the para parts. There are a few old cannons up there but little else to see other than the vie...  more »
  • The Castle has served as a fortress of Fuengirola in several thousand years. It features the remains of settlements and fortifications from the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, moors (who were the real developers) and the later rulers. Noteworthy is the security operation during the Spanish war of independence in 1810, when 200 Polish defenders in the bracket that was allied with Napoleon defeated a British-Spanish force of 3,000 people! All these historical support points, you can however hardly imagined, for small collections that previously had gone to inspect the site, has moved away and Castillio Suhail is a rather desolate and dreary place, despite the fact that a lot of resources team on restoring the exterior of a dozen years ago. Such a historically important place in a lively tourist town that Fuengirola should better have come into their own. The possible sorrundings is hardly noticeable on a visit.

  • There is not much to see here but it is a nice walk and the views are good from the top but I feel that it could be better than it is.

  • Was here 2012. Wonderful view from the top over the town and out to sea. Real cannons there too from time. Worth the couple of Euro admission. Do remember to have good walking shoes on though.
  • Had a great time. Will be going back.

  • Good place for walks, learn the history of Fuengirola and be in contact with nature. From here you can see the beach and bask in the river and the beach. There are also activities for young people and children, although we could not see them.
