  • I have been there twice, but the first one was at sunrise, which means to stop for the night just before and get a good climb at night, but the effort is worth it all. The scenery is really impressive during those hours and will leave a lasting impression in the minds of travelers.

  • Represents the highest point of the French way to Santiago. The point where the pilgrims leave their "sign of passage", a rock, typically, a photo, a memory ... A wooden pole topped with an iron cross. Nothing pretentious, nothing special if not for his emotional meaning. Stop also just a few minutes in this place leads to a felt empathetic to rack your completely. The silence and the raccogliemnto of each of the audience makes the magic, spirituality, faith, introspection. I mean, everything turns out to be "more" than human, a cathartic moment from which it becomes difficult to detach. And then, turn your back. resume the journey. With a lump in my throat.

  • This cross indicates the boundary between El Bierzo and the Maragatería, and is a milestone in the Camino de Santiago. Sends the tradition the pilgrims carried a stone with them from the place of origin and arriving at this simple cross, elevated on a wooden pole and surrounded at his feet by a multitude of stones, be disposed of the pile symbolize left there the previous sins that weigh down the Pilgrim. Apart from the religious or folk meaning that each le to this custom, is curious to see the stones under this cross mountain, but the most striking is the mountainous landscape that surrounds this place and that is what most worth watching. It is a beautiful and very quiet, almost exclusive of pilgrims.
