  • After a great night of limit in the Castle, we had a problem of capacity of people in the bus back. Safety of the enclosure instead of giving solutions was devoted to find guilty of more places occupied. It must be said that with the type of management they had, it is impossible to know who has come from zaragoza or Huesca. The topic culminates when it explained to him that seemed to be responsible for security (by its tone and voice) that give us a solution to return; the above not only with not providing solutions, when told of the situation, is dedicated to threaten people with which to stay on land, in the middle of nowhere. It seems shameful to me that is you this chilling to this kind of people power. Any claim against the site but should think about changing of security system. Not by all employees of workplace safety, most of them were tolerant people. But that assailant, passing over the rights of the people has the courage to threaten, the comments were in a tone of conciliation. Lords of the security company, do not believe it to be the first who complain of the lack of respect for this guy.

  • Not worth the effort of a special visit, Just a medieval bit of wall but some historical explanation  more »
  • There is little to see of the great castle that was once the heart of Estepona, built after the conquest of the city in mid-15th century to defend it from the Moors still active with acts of piracy. I don't think you can go inside but you can wander around the rest of the castle walls. Should be valued.

  • This is the original castle ordered to be built by Queen Isabella of Castille and her husband King Ferdinand. Not much remains, but it is well preserved, and inside the old market in the next street Calle Villa (the yellow and white building with ceramic plaques outside), you can see a model of what it was like. On Easter Saturday on both sides of the castle they act out some of the scenes from the town's outdoor Passion play - La Pasión según Estepona. You can read more about this in Google Maps, it is amazing.
  • . It used to be decaying, now it's superb! As part of the general beautification of the Historic Centre of Estepona - check out the other reviews! - they have been working to improve the castle. First they cleaned the stonework and re-did the pointing. I suppose they were worried a chunk might fall onto someone's head. Not a good advert! Then they beautified the street that it is in, blue flowerpots giving a cheerful air. Then they bought and knocked down a couple of houses that were in front of the castle, cleared the plot, paved it, made a little alley way round the other side, and set up spotlights for night-time illumination. It is now a most attractive addition to the town, something else to gaze on with pleasure as you walk around the wonderful streets of Estepona. .
  • But here most of the people the East CONFUSING with the BAR del CASTILLO, the remains that are left of the old Castle of Estepona can be in this place. The southeast corner of the defensive wall of the bastion is the only thing that is left on foot, and that denotes the defensive need, in antiquity, this location to attacks by Moorish pirates.
