La Granja, Esporles

Inspirock Rating:
3.8/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web
Perched in the foothills of the Tramontana mountains, La Granja is a working 17th-century farm and estate. The site passed through the hands of the Romans, Moors, feudal Christians, and the Cisterian monks before its acquisition by its current owners, the Fortuny family. Today, it exists as a living museum of traditional Mallorcan culture and craftsmanship. Inside, you will find carefully preserved antique furnishings and craftsmen at work in trades such as blacksmithing, Spanish grasswork, and tanning. A stroll through the gardens reveals elm trees, fragrant rosemary, a 9.1 m (30 ft) natural spring, and local animals like the Mallorca goat and black pig. Don't forget to sample the traditional Mallorcan fig bread, bunnelos, and fig and apricot jams made on site. To visit La Granja on your trip to Esporles, use our Esporles vacation generator.

  • Beautiful old mansion with an interesting museum. There was everything from their stately rooms and kitchen to the torture chamber. Very good authentic Spanish cuisine in the restaurant.
