La Granja, Esporles

#8 of 50 in Museums in Majorca
Perched in the foothills of the Tramontana mountains, La Granja is a working 17th-century farm and estate. The site passed through the hands of the Romans, Moors, feudal Christians, and the Cisterian monks before its acquisition by its current owners, the Fortuny family. Today, it exists as a living museum of traditional Mallorcan culture and craftsmanship. Inside, you will find carefully preserved antique furnishings and craftsmen at work in trades such as blacksmithing, Spanish grasswork, and tanning. A stroll through the gardens reveals elm trees, fragrant rosemary, a 9.1 m (30 ft) natural spring, and local animals like the Mallorca goat and black pig. Don't forget to sample the traditional Mallorcan fig bread, bunnelos, and fig and apricot jams made on site. • A robbery! €15 per adult and 9 children, when there are assets that can be visited free on the island. Very nice and all you want, but the price is abusive! and no discount for residents! Fatal!

  • We visited this place on Wednesday November 15. Every Wednesday, there is representation with horses, that's what prompted us to visit La Granja. Well, there is not the 15 November and the rate was exactly the same as in high season: 15 euros / pers. There should be wine tasting... and also local doughnuts. We have tasted or one or the other... Throughout the tour, there was nobody to give explanations. We were given a sheet with numbers identifying the objects seen and we walk alone. La Granja is a bunch of junk or missed reconstructions. This is 15 euros well badly invested

  • The truth is that I liked. The visit is worth. The only thing, on posters refers to the Crown of Aragon as the Catalano-Aragonese Crown. Please correct the error since the Catalano-Aragonese Crown has ever existed, is that of Aragon. To dry
