Jardín Huerto del Cura, Elche

4.3
A landscaped garden that's been cultivated since the 19th century, Jardín Huerto del Cura is ribboned with stone walkways lined with plants. The gardens are dense, with species of fauna that run the gamut from lush trees and palms to stout, spiky cactus. In the center, at the edge of manmade duck pond, is a gazebo with cushioned lounge chairs. Make the most of the small entry fee by bringing a snack to enjoy in the gazebo. • This year we did discover this "Garden" to friends. The place is still beautiful, still magical atmosphere and our friends have fallen under the spell. And as one of those people is melted photo as say he was thrilled! Between Palm trees, vegetation of any kind, basins and refreshing fountains, cactus and peacocks it is clear that we can define the place as a haven of peace in the city. And then he must discover the Palm tree of the Empress SISSI, nothing that it is worth visiting this place! Essential.

  • This garden is a treat for everyone who loves plants and trees. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of it. It appears rather small from the outside, but on the inside it was rather sizeable and took a good 2 hours for me to explore. Depending on how much time you take this could even be longer. There are many lovely species of plants and also a lot of benches are created where you can rest and enjoy the view. The toilets in the park are clean and the staff is very friendly. Parking can be a bit of an issue, but just park near the police station a bit further down the road. Entrance was 5 euro per adult when I went.
  • Beautifully manicured and curated botanical garden. A peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of Elche.
  • A must visit. Tired of palm trees? This has THE palm tree to surplant all expectations! Parking nearby is tricky but worth the hassle.
  • Lovely tiny orchard of palm trees and cacti. Well labeled plants. Pond with ducklings and tortoises.
  • Very interesting place for a walk. Entry fee for adult is €5 I recommend to explore and find all hidden places.
