Often described as an unforgettable beauty, Monasterio de Sant Pere de Rodes is a 10th century monastery that stands watch over the sea. The structure is somewhat ruined, with just columns and the foundation intact, but the remaining portions still offer a striking visual. A modest museum on site offers more details and history about the area. There are plenty of chances for great photos, as you’ll find yourself high in the mountains surrounded by aromatic trees, with mist rising from the sea. There’s also a cafe here when you need refreshment. • Great place to visit, horrible big bellied manager in the restaurant, who was rude to us for no reason.  more »

  • Well worth a visit. Twisty roads on route and on exit. Easy parking. Well maintained without ruining it's age and historic value. Clean, friendly staff and terrific photo opportunities. Educational, enjoyable and a great way to spend time away from the usual beach and shops. 6 euros for ages 16 and upwards. Under 16 is free. Paul
  • Fantastic spot. Magnificent historic building. There are two roads to achieve the place, the best views are from Port de la Selva, really amazing but the road is full of hairpin curves and blind curves.
  • Very scenic. Great views and choice of hikes available. Exercise, beauty and tranquility mixed into one.
  • Beautiful and majestic. One of the best organised self-tours of any historic building. Lovely audio tour and extra commentary available on selection - made for a really comprehensive insight into a fascinating building and history.
  • Magnificent monastery! Really easy to visit and good system of audioguide. It is really spectacular and worth a visit. If you have time enjoy also a 20 minute walk up to the old castle ruins
